TOURNAMENT RULES
1. THIS IS A HANDICAP TOURNAMENT. NO CURRENT OR EXEMPT PBA BOWLERS WILL BE
ALLOWED TO BOWL. A BOWLER MAY ONLY PARTICIPATE ONCE IN THIS TOURNAMENT. WE
RESERVE THE RIGHT TO RE-RATE ANT BOWLER AT ANYTIME.
2. ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY MIDNIGHT TUESDAY MARCH 25, 2008 & CONFIRMED BY
SATURDAY MARCH 30, 2008. TELEPHONE AND ELECTRONIC ENTRIES WILL BE APPROVED UPON
RECEIPT OF ENTRY FEES. ENTRIES ARE LIMITED TO 88 TEAMS AND WILL ACCEPTED ON A
"FIRST COME - FIRST SERVE" BASIS. REFUND OF ENTRY FEE WILL NOT BE MADE AFTER AN
ENTRY HAS BEEN ACCEPTED. ALAMO CITY BOWLERS, INC. RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE
FINAL DECISIONS REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES, INDIVIDUAL BOWLERS, AND SHIFT
ASSIGNMENTS.
3. TEAMS WILL CONSIST OF 5 BOWLERS, 3 MEN AND 2 WOMEN OR VICE VERSA. BOWLERS
WILL USE: a.) THEIR VERIFIED T.U.B.A. AVERAGE AS OF APRIL 1, 2008 or b.) HIGHEST LOCAL
2006/2007 USBC YEARBOOK AVERAGE OF 42 GAMES OR MORE or
c.) BOWLERS WITHOUT EITHER AVERAGE WILL BOWL SCRATCH OF 210. INDIVIDUAL HANDICAP
IS 80% OF 220 WITH MAXIMUM HANDICAP OF 60 FOR WOMEN & 50 FOR MEN. TEAM HANDICAP IS
THE SUM OF INDIVIDUAL HANDICAPS. TEAM AVERAGE WILL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL OF 950.
SUBSTITUTES BOWLING ON SUNDAY WILL BOWL SCRATCH OF 220. THE FIFTEEN (15) PIN RULE
WILL APPLY.
4. TEAM CAPTAINS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TEAM CHECK-INS. CHANGES TO TEAM ROSTERS
AND CORRECTIONS TO AVERAGES / HANDICAPS MUST BE REPORTED BEFORE THE START OF
THE FIRST FRAME OF A SCHEDULED SHIFT. REARRANGEMENTS OF LINE-UPS AT THIS TIME IS
NOT PERMITTED. ANY TEAM OR TEAM MEMBER ARRIVING AFTER THE START OF THE
SCHEDULED SHIFT WILL RECEIVE ZERO O FOR EACH MISSED FRAME.
5. EACH TEAM WILL BOWL A TOTAL OF SIX 6 GAMES, 3 GAMES ON SATURDAY AND 3 GAMES ON
SUNDAY. AT THE END OF THE SIX 6 GAME COMPETITION, THE TOP MAN & WOMAN WILL
DECLARED TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS. THE TOP THREE 3 MEN AND THREE 3 WOMEN WILL
RECEIVE CASH PRIZES ( TOP THREE 3 MEN AND THREE 3 WOMEN INCLUDES THE TOURNAMENT
CHAMPIONS ).
6. IN CASE OF A TIE FOR FIRST PLACE SINGLES EVENT, A TWO 2 FRAME (9th & 10th FRAME)
ROLL-OFF WILL BE USED TO DETERMINE THE WINNER OF THE MATCH. IN THE EVENT OF A TIE
FOR FIRST PLACE IN THE TEAM EVENT, A TWO 2 FRAME (9th & 10th FRAME) ROLL-OFF IS USED
TO DETERMINE TEAM CHAMPIONS. ALL OTHER TEAMS OR INDIVIDUALS IN A TIE WILL EQUALLY
DIVIDE THE PRIZE MONEY FOR THE RESPECTIVE PLACE FINISHED. SUBSTITUTES WILL NOT BE
ALLOWED FOR ROLL-OFFS.
7. THE WEARING OF CLUB UNIFORMS IS ENCOURAGED AND RECOMMENDED. THE WEARING OF
SPANDEX ATHLETIC WEAR, CUT-OFFS, AND SHORT SHORTS IS NOT ALLOWED. THE DECISIONS
OF THE TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS REGARDING PROPER CLOTHING IS FINAL.
8. ANY VIOLATION OF TOURNAMENT RULES AND DRESS CODES WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE
DISQUALIFICATION. IF A BOWLER ABUSES BOWLING CENTER EQUIPMENT RESULTING IN ANY
MALFUNCTION OF EQUIPMENT, THE BOWLER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED FROM THE
TOURNAMENT AND FORFEITS ANY CLAIMS FOR PRIZE FUND, SIDEPOTS, BRACKETS, ETC.
9. IN ADDITION TO THESE RULES, USBC RULES WILL BE USED AS GENERAL GUIDELINES IN THE
OPERATION OF THIS TOURNAMENT. ANY PROTEST OF ELIGIBILITY OR CONDUCT OF THE
TOURNAMENT MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING TO THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR PRIOR TO
THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE PRIZE FUND. THE PRIZE FUND WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON THE LAST
DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT. DECISIONS OF THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR ARE FINAL. ALL
PAYOUTS ARE FINAL AFTER FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF HIGH SCORES. THIS PERTAINS TO
SIDEPOTS, MIX-DOUBLES, ETC.... IT IS THE TEAMS CAPTAIN'S RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP UP
WITH FINAL ANNOUNCEMENTS OF HIGH SCORES !!!!
10. AS A DULY CHARTED ORGANIZATION IN THE STATE OF TEXAS, THE ALAMO CITY BOWLERS,
INC. IT'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS, GENERAL MEMBERSHIP, AND DESIGNATED SPONSORS, ARE
NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR LOSS TO ANY PARTICIPANT, THEIR IMMEDIATE
FAMILY MEMBERS, GUESTS, AND ALL OTHER OBSERVERS FOR ANY PURPOSE.
